SYDNEY INTER-CLUB STICK CURLING LEAGUE

The Sydney Curling Club Stick League was formed on January 1st, 2025. The league began with 14 teams and concluded the year with 12 teams, consisting of mixed teams, women’s teams, and men’s teams. The league games took place between 3 and 5:30 pm on Thursday afternoons.

There was a buzz of excitement around the initiation of the new stick league, and we look forward to a larger league sign-up in October 2025.

We culminated our year with the Sydney Curling Club Open Stick Bonspiel held on March 8. We had openings for 16 teams, and the bonspiel was full within 24 hours of the opening of registrations. We had representative teams from Baddeck and Wolfville, with the balance from the Sydney Curling Club.

A great time was had by all, and everyone is looking forward to the next stick bonspiel. Winners of the Stick Bonspiel and our league were Peter McInnis and Bill Gallant. Runners-up were Brenda Boutilier and Debbie Macintyre. Second place went to Sharon and David Gilmore.
